Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, assess situations, and dispatch appropriate resources
- Operate radio systems, computer-aided dispatch (CAD), and mapping software
- Maintain accurate logs of all communications and incidents
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during emergencies
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (EMS, Fire, PD) during critical incidents
- Remain calm and professional under high-pressure situations
- Complete all required training modules to full dispatcher certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- US citizenship or legal authorization to work
- Ability to type 35+ WPM (tested during application process)
- Clear criminal background and drug-free
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to multitask and make quick decisions
- Strong computer proficiency and aptitude for learning new systems
- Must pass psychological evaluation and voice stress test
