Responsibilities
- Maintain and secure confidential patient health records during overnight shifts
- Process and verify medical documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with day-shift staff on critical patient information updates
- Ensure HIPAA compliance at all times during record management
- Generate reports and analytics for departmental review
- Respond to urgent data requests from healthcare providers
- Perform system backups and quality checks during off-peak hours
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Health Information Technology or related field
- 2+ years of medical records experience
- Certified Health Information Technician (RHIT) required
- Proficiency with Epic or EHR systems
- Strong attention to detail with zero-error tolerance
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours
- Valid California driver's license
- Background clearance for state employment
