Role Overview:
The Night Shift IT Support Specialist will be responsible for maintaining system uptime, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring data security for government clients. You will serve as the first line of defense for our critical infrastructure during the evening hours.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain critical IT infrastructure systems, servers, and networks during the night shift.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for government-issued hardware and software applications.
- Ensure strict compliance with government security protocols, FISMA regulations, and data protection standards.
- Manage and escalate network incidents and service tickets to senior staff promptly.
- Conduct nightly system backups, performance audits, and routine maintenance checks.
- Document all incidents, resolutions, and system changes in the required ticketing systems.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or systems administration.
- Experience working within the government sector or with government contractors is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, reliably, and efficiently during night shifts and weekends.
- Familiarity with government security clearance processes and FISMA compliance is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
