Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and Resolve: Provide tier-one and tier-two technical support for hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, and in-person.
- User Assistance: Assist state employees with password resets, software installations, and hardware troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of IT equipment inventory and assist in the deployment of new devices.
- System Monitoring: Monitor system performance and alert management to potential issues before they affect users.
- Security Compliance: Adhere to state security protocols and assist in the implementation of security best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; high school diploma with equivalent technical certification (e.g., CompTIA A+) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a help desk or technical support role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows and Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic networking concepts.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Availability: Must be available to work a part-time schedule (e.g., 20-25 hours per week) during business hours.
