Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain local area networks, servers, and hardware systems during the night shift.
- Perform routine troubleshooting and repair of computer workstations, printers, and peripherals.
- Ensure data integrity and security compliance for all government systems after hours.
- Respond to IT help desk tickets and emergency service calls with minimal supervision.
- Conduct system backups and routine maintenance tasks to ensure business continuity.
- Document all technical issues, resolutions, and system changes in the state service management database.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or system administration.
- Must be available to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Familiarity with Virginia State Government IT infrastructure and security protocols is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a quiet environment.
- Excellent communication skills for documenting technical data.
