Responsibilities
- Manage emergency calls and dispatch appropriate personnel (police, fire, medical) during night shifts
- Maintain calm communication with callers in high-stress situations
- Operate CAD/RMS systems and radio equipment with precision
- Document incident details accurately in compliance with state regulations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Conduct routine equipment checks and system backups
- Train on specialized night shift protocols and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year dispatch or customer service experience
- POST Public Safety Dispatcher certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours
- Pass extensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Fluency in English and Spanish preferred
