Responsibilities
- Patrol municipal facilities and high-traffic areas during overnight shifts (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Monitor surveillance systems and respond immediately to security alerts
- Coordinate with emergency services (police, fire, EMS) during critical incidents
- Conduct thorough incident reporting and documentation using digital systems
- Enforce city ordinances and safety protocols for public spaces
- Provide assistance to citizens and staff during non-business hours
- Participate in quarterly emergency response drills and training
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years security or public safety experience
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean record
- Ability to obtain Class III Special Operator certification within 90 days
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and surveillance software
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills
- Must pass background check and physical fitness assessment
