Responsibilities
- Maintain Vigilance: Patrol assigned government facilities and grounds to ensure a secure environment and deter unauthorized access.
- Monitor Systems: Operate and monitor CCTV surveillance systems, access control terminals, and alarm panels to identify and respond to security threats.
- Incident Response: Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, emergencies, and security breaches in accordance with agency protocols.
- Access Control: Verify the credentials of all visitors and employees, issuing badges and maintaining a log of entry/exit activities.
- Report Writing: Compile detailed, accurate incident reports and daily activity logs regarding security observations and incidents.
- Facility Integrity: Conduct routine inspections of fire exits, emergency equipment, and perimeter fencing to ensure everything is in proper working order.
- Emergency Assistance: Provide assistance during emergencies, coordinating with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or government facility protection is strongly preferred.
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM) on a regular basis.
- License: Valid Texas Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and perform physical tasks as required by the role.
- Skills: Strong observational skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and excellent written communication skills.
- Background: Successful completion of a background check and drug screening is mandatory.
