Responsibilities
- Monitor facility security and inmate activities during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular patrols and perimeter checks to maintain safety protocols
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations with swift action
- Enforce institutional rules and document all incidents accurately
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during critical operations
- Maintain detailed logs and reports using digital systems
- Train and mentor new staff on night shift procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- U.S. citizenship and residency in North Carolina
- Physical ability to respond to emergencies and restrain individuals if required
