Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain server infrastructure, databases, and network systems during the night shift to ensure 24/7 operational continuity for state agencies.
- Execute routine system backups, patch management, and security updates to protect sensitive government data and maintain compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical technical issues and incidents reported during off-hours with minimal supervision.
- Ensure strict adherence to federal (FedRAMP/FISMA) and state cybersecurity policies and data privacy regulations.
- Document system configurations, incident reports, and maintenance logs accurately in the CMDB.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to hand off critical issues and plan maintenance windows for minimal disruption.
- Perform system health checks and performance tuning to optimize night-shift workloads.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Strong technical knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and business continuity protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Must be available to work a rotating night shift schedule.
