Responsibilities
- Perform nighttime highway and bridge inspections and preventative maintenance
- Operate heavy machinery including sweepers, patching vehicles, and traffic control equipment
- Respond to emergency road repairs during overnight hours
- Install and maintain traffic signage, signals, and pavement markings
- Document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems
- Collaborate with day-shift crews for seamless operations
- Ensure compliance with Caltrans safety protocols and OSHA standards
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C driver's license (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience
- Ability to work independently overnight with minimal supervision
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain
- Basic knowledge of traffic control flagging procedures
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent required
