Responsibilities
- Monitor real-time traffic systems and incident reports during overnight hours (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Coordinate emergency response teams for accidents, weather events, and infrastructure issues
- Conduct routine safety inspections of highways, bridges, and tunnels using mobile surveillance equipment
- Document and report maintenance needs and security concerns to day operations teams
- Operate specialized traffic control systems and communication protocols for night operations
- Collaborate with state police and maintenance crews during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all activities and submit shift reports using digital systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree in transportation or public safety preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or emergency services
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours with minimal supervision
- Proficient with traffic management software and communication systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm during high-pressure situations
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Must pass criminal background check and drug screening
