Responsibilities
- Design and analyze multimodal transportation systems using GIS and traffic modeling software
- Develop comprehensive corridor studies and capital improvement plans
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies for project alignment
- Conduct field investigations and traffic impact assessments
- Prepare grant applications and manage federal compliance documentation
- Lead public engagement sessions and stakeholder workshops
- Monitor project budgets and timelines for on-time delivery
- Ensure ADA compliance and accessibility standards implementation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field
- 3+ years of transportation planning experience with government agencies
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and traffic simulation software (e.g., Vistro)
- KDOT project management certification preferred
- Strong data analysis and statistical modeling capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Kansas driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings for public meetings
