Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of transportation infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and traffic systems
- Conduct traffic analysis and prepare engineering reports and project documentation
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure regulatory compliance
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources using engineering management software
- Review and approve engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on transportation engineering principles
- Conduct field inspections and oversee construction activities to ensure quality standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years of progressive transportation engineering experience
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and GIS)
- Demonstrated experience with TxDOT design standards and project delivery processes
- Strong knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations (FHWA, TxDOT)
- Excellent project management and stakeholder communication skills
- Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record
