Responsibilities

  • Perform general landscaping duties, including mowing, edging, trimming, raking, and leaf blowing.
  • Maintain park facilities, restrooms, playgrounds, and sports courts to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of community events, festivals, and recreational programs.
  • Clear snow and ice from sidewalks, parking lots, and athletic fields during the winter months.
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance on landscaping machinery, such as mowers, trimmers, and tractors.
  • Monitor park grounds for hazards, fallen debris, and maintenance needs, reporting issues promptly.
  • Collect and dispose of litter and waste in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Alaska Driver’s License (Class D) is preferred.
  • Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor labor in all weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat.
  • Basic knowledge of landscaping principles, tool operation, and maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a diverse team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to public safety.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
