Responsibilities
- Maintain Park Grounds: Perform landscaping, mowing, trimming, and general cleaning of park facilities and green spaces to ensure high aesthetic standards.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate power tools, mowers, and landscaping equipment under supervision.
- Event Support: Assist in setting up and breaking down community events, festivals, and sports leagues in various Honolulu parks.
- Facility Maintenance: Inspect and maintain restrooms, picnic areas, and playground equipment; report repairs needed to supervisors.
- Community Engagement: Interact positively with park visitors, enforcing rules and providing information about park amenities.
- Waste Management: Empty trash receptacles, empty portable toilets, and manage recycling programs within park areas.
- Trail Maintenance: Clear debris and maintain walking paths and bike lanes within public parks.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Physical Ability: Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions (heat, rain).
- Valid ID: Must possess a valid state-issued ID and be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Driver's License: A valid Hawaii Driver's License is preferred.
- Reliability: Demonstrated history of punctuality and dependability.
- Communication: Basic communication skills and the ability to follow safety protocols and verbal instructions.
- Interest in Public Service: A genuine interest in community service and environmental stewardship.
