Responsibilities
- Maintain and clean park facilities, playgrounds, and trails to ensure a safe environment for the public.
- Perform groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, raking, and planting seasonal flowers.
- Operate heavy machinery and power equipment such as tractors, mowers, and chainsaws.
- Assist with snow and ice removal operations during the challenging Alaskan winter.
- Set up and break down equipment for community events, festivals, and sports leagues.
- Monitor park areas to enforce safety rules and report maintenance issues promptly.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Alaska Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions, including extreme cold.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to public service.
- Previous experience in landscaping, construction, or facility maintenance is preferred.
