Responsibilities
- Maintenance Operations: Perform routine landscaping, mowing, raking, and general groundskeeping to ensure parks and public spaces are clean and well-maintained.
- Facility Care: Clean, repair, and maintain park facilities, including restrooms, shelters, and playground equipment to ensure safety and hygiene standards.
- Equipment Management: Inspect, operate, and perform minor maintenance on lawn mowers, trimmers, and other park equipment.
- Public Service: Assist park visitors, enforce park rules, and provide information about park amenities and programs.
- Seasonal Projects: Assist in the installation and maintenance of seasonal decorations, sports equipment, and park signage.
- Trash Removal: Collect and empty litter receptacles and ensure waste disposal areas are kept clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in landscaping, custodial work, or park maintenance is preferred but not required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- License: Valid New York State Driver's License is required.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of tools and maintenance equipment; good communication skills.
