Responsibilities
- Perform routine landscaping maintenance, including mowing, trimming, raking, and edging grass and vegetation in park areas and right-of-ways.
- Operate and maintain light to heavy-duty landscaping and park maintenance equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and tractors.
- Inspect park facilities, playgrounds, and athletic fields for safety hazards, damage, or needed repairs; report issues to supervisors.
- Assist with the set-up, breakdown, and cleanup of community events, sports leagues, and recreational programs.
- Plant, water, fertilize, and maintain trees, flowers, and shrubs according to established gardening standards.
- Clean and maintain restrooms, picnic shelters, and other public facilities within the parks.
- Monitor park grounds to ensure compliance with park rules and regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class C Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and operating heavy machinery.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping principles, tools, and equipment is preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and rain.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
