Are you passionate about the outdoors and dedicated to public service? The City of Milwaukee Parks & Recreation is currently seeking dedicated Parks and Recreation Workers to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the beauty and safety of our city's parks, ensuring residents have a welcoming environment for recreation and relaxation.

Responsibilities
- Maintain athletic fields, playgrounds, and landscaping areas to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Operate and maintain power equipment, including mowers, tractors, and turf care machinery.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance on park structures, benches, and fencing.
- Assist with the set-up and breakdown of public events, festivals, and recreational programs.
- Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling practices throughout park facilities.
- Monitor park grounds for safety hazards and report issues to supervisors immediately.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and OSHA guidelines while performing duties.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record is preferred.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Experience with landscaping equipment and tools is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is highly desirable.
