Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance tasks including mowing, raking, trimming, and litter removal in parks and recreational facilities.
- Assist in the set-up and breakdown of recreational programs, sports leagues, and community events.
- Monitor park facilities to ensure they are clean, safe, and accessible for the public.
- Operate light motor vehicles and landscaping equipment safely and efficiently.
- Interact with park visitors to answer inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
- Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in Parks and Recreation or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods, including lifting up to 50 lbs and walking on uneven terrain.
- Valid California Class C Driverβs License and a clean driving record.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all departmental policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and flexible to work evenings and weekends.
