Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair park facilities, including restrooms, playgrounds, and athletic fields, ensuring they meet safety and accessibility standards.
- Perform general groundskeeping duties, including mowing, raking, trimming, planting, and watering of trees, shrubs, and flowers.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of recreational events, festivals, and sports tournaments.
- Sweep, clean, and sanitize public areas, including picnic areas, benches, and walking paths.
- Monitor park activities to ensure compliance with rules and regulations; provide information and assistance to the public.
- Operate and maintain park equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and light vehicles, adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist with snow removal and ice control during winter months to ensure public safety.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or public facility maintenance is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Valid New York State Driver’s License (Class D) may be required depending on assignment.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Strong commitment to customer service and community engagement.
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
