Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of parks, trails, and athletic fields including mowing, pruning, and irrigation system management
- Lead youth and adult recreation programs including sports leagues, fitness classes, and community events
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment (mowers, tractors, snow removal machinery)
- Enforce safety protocols and conduct facility inspections to ensure compliance with city regulations
- Assist with event setup/teardown for festivals, tournaments, and cultural celebrations
- Respond to public inquiries and provide exceptional customer service at park facilities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years in park maintenance or recreation program delivery
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with clean driving record
- First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Experience operating commercial landscaping/maintenance equipment
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in diverse weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of horticulture principles or willingness to complete training
