Responsibilities
- Maintain park grounds including turf, gardens, athletic fields, and playground equipment
- Operate and inspect recreational facilities (pools, ice rinks, community centers)
- Lead youth and adult recreational programs (sports, arts, nature education)
- Enforce park safety regulations and provide excellent customer service
- Assist with event setup and coordination for festivals and activities
- Perform seasonal maintenance including snow removal, litter control, and trail upkeep
- Collaborate with maintenance and programming teams for facility improvements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in recreation, environmental science, or related field preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in park maintenance, facility operations, or recreation programming
- Valid Minnesota driver's license with clean driving record
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days)
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations
- Basic knowledge of turf management, landscaping, or recreation equipment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
