Responsibilities
- Maintain park cleanliness, including litter removal, restroom sanitization, and facility upkeep
- Assist in setting up and breaking down for community events, sports leagues, and recreational programs
- Monitor park usage and enforce safety guidelines with friendly professionalism
- Perform light equipment maintenance and basic repairs (e.g., playground equipment, benches)
- Provide excellent customer service to park visitors, answering inquiries and addressing concerns
- Support seasonal projects such as landscaping, trail maintenance, and special event preparation
- Complete daily activity logs and incident reports as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in recreation management preferred
- Previous experience in parks, maintenance, or customer service role highly valued
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions with physical stamina
- Valid Indiana driver's license and clean driving record
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact positively with diverse groups
- Basic knowledge of park safety protocols and first aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on park event schedules
- Ability to operate basic maintenance equipment (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers) with proper training
