Responsibilities
- Maintain Park Facilities: Perform routine cleaning, landscaping, trash removal, and general upkeep of park grounds, restrooms, and recreational equipment.
- Event Assistance: Help set up and tear down equipment for community events, sports leagues, concerts, and festivals to ensure smooth operations.
- Visitor Interaction: Greet and assist park visitors, answer questions regarding park rules and amenities, and ensure a safe, friendly atmosphere.
- Groundskeeping: Mow lawns, trim hedges, empty trash receptacles, and perform minor maintenance tasks to preserve the aesthetic appeal of the city.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and city regulations while operating tools or performing manual labor tasks.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and report damaged equipment or facilities to the supervisor for prompt repair.
Qualifications
- Eligibility: Must be at least 16 years of age (or meet state labor laws for work permits).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs for extended periods. Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
- Communication: Basic English reading and writing skills; ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and the public.
- Attitude: A positive, professional attitude with a willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team.
- Reliability: Must have a valid driver's license (not always required but preferred) and a clean background check.
