Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain park facilities including playgrounds, sports courts, trails, and green spaces
- Organize and lead recreational programs for all age groups (sports leagues, arts workshops, fitness classes)
- Perform routine maintenance tasks: landscaping, equipment repairs, safety inspections, and litter removal
- Enforce park rules and regulations while providing excellent customer service to visitors
- Collaborate with community organizations to host special events and cultural festivals
- Monitor facility usage and report maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Assist in emergency response procedures during severe weather or public incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in recreation, environmental science, or related field preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in parks maintenance, event coordination, or customer service
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean driving record
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage diverse community members
- Basic knowledge of landscaping tools, irrigation systems, and recreational equipment
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
