Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain park equipment, facilities, and grounds including playgrounds, athletic fields, and trails
- Implement park improvement projects including landscaping, irrigation, and structural repairs
- Assist in organizing community events, youth programs, and recreational activities
- Enforce park safety regulations and provide excellent customer service to visitors
- Collaborate with team members on seasonal maintenance schedules and operational plans
- Monitor park conditions, report hazards, and perform preventative maintenance
- Support environmental stewardship through sustainable park management practices
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in recreation, environmental science, or related field preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in grounds maintenance, facility operations, or recreation services
- Valid Missouri driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, tractors) safely
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage diverse community members
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Certification in CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Commitment to inclusive and equitable park access for all residents
