Responsibilities
- Design, coordinate, and supervise recreational programs for diverse age groups and interests
- Manage park facility operations including maintenance scheduling, safety inspections, and vendor coordination
- Develop community outreach initiatives to increase park usage and engagement
- Train and mentor junior staff and seasonal recreation leaders
- Prepare detailed program budgets and financial reports
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on special events and community projects
- Ensure compliance with city policies, safety regulations, and ADA standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies, or related field
- 3+ years of progressive experience in parks and recreation management
- CPR/First Aid certification and current California driver's license
- Proven ability to develop and manage successful recreational programs
- Strong budget management and financial reporting experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Experience with recreation software (e.g., ActiveNet, RecTrac)
