Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of park grounds including litter removal, lawn care, and tree pruning
- Operate and maintain recreational equipment (playgrounds, athletic courts, pools)
- Assist with event setup and breakdown for community programs and festivals
- Monitor park conditions and report safety hazards or facility damage
- Provide excellent customer service to park visitors and program participants
- Support seasonal projects including snow removal, irrigation repairs, and habitat restoration
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid New York State Driver's License (Class D or higher)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment (mowers, trimmers, hand tools)
- Strong communication skills and commitment to public service
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Experience in parks, groundskeeping, or customer service preferred
