Responsibilities
- Maintain park grounds, athletic fields, and recreational facilities to ensure a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment.
- Operate and maintain a variety of heavy and light equipment, including riding mowers, tractors, backhoes, and snow removal machinery.
- Perform basic landscaping tasks, including planting, trimming, weeding, and irrigation maintenance.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of community events, festivals, and sporting events.
- Inspect equipment and facilities for damage, safety hazards, and necessary repairs; report issues promptly.
- Interact with the public in a professional manner, answering questions and providing excellent customer service.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and department policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
- Basic mechanical knowledge or experience operating landscaping or agricultural equipment is a strong plus.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
