As a Parks and Recreation Worker, you will play a key role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by preserving our green spaces and creating memorable experiences for families and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair park facilities, including restrooms, playgrounds, and athletic fields to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of recreational facilities such as pools, gymnasiums, and community centers.
- Provide exceptional customer service to citizens, visitors, and program participants, answering inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Assist with the planning, setup, and execution of community events, festivals, and recreational programs.
- Monitor park grounds for safety hazards, debris, and maintenance needs, reporting issues to supervisors.
- Operate heavy and light landscaping machinery (e.g., mowers, tractors) safely and efficiently.
- Enforce park rules and regulations to ensure a safe environment for all patrons.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in maintenance, landscaping, or customer service is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and standing for extended periods.
- Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping and park maintenance equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
