As a vital member of our parks crew, you'll work across Toledo's 140+ parks, playgrounds, and athletic facilities. This full-time role combines hands-on maintenance with public interaction, ensuring our parks remain safe, beautiful, and accessible for all. Responsibilities
- Maintain park landscapes including mowing, trimming, irrigation, and seasonal planting
- Operate maintenance equipment (mowers, trimmers, tractors) safely and efficiently
- Inspect and repair park amenities (benches, playgrounds, sports courts)
- Support special events setup and breakdown for festivals and sports tournaments
- Monitor park conditions and report safety hazards or maintenance needs
- Interact professionally with park visitors, providing information and assistance
- Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Ohio driver's license with clean record
- Ability to perform physical labor in varying weather conditions
- Basic equipment operation experience preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends/seasonal hours
- Pass background check and drug screening
