In this role, you will work outdoors and indoors, collaborating with a diverse team to keep Albuquerque green, safe, and welcoming for everyone.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Public Spaces: Perform routine landscaping, mowing, trimming, and general grounds maintenance to ensure park cleanliness and aesthetics.
- Facility Care: Inspect and maintain recreational facilities, including restrooms, playground equipment, and sports fields to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Event Support: Assist in the setup, operation, and breakdown of community events, sports leagues, and recreational programs.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate light motorized equipment, such as riding mowers, tractors, and dump trucks.
- Safety Enforcement: Monitor park activities to enforce rules and regulations, ensuring a safe environment for all visitors.
- Seasonal Maintenance: Assist with snow removal, ice control, and winterizing facilities as required by seasonal needs.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to park visitors, residents, and community groups.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- License: Valid New Mexico Driver's License (Class D) is required.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Experience: Prior experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or facility maintenance is preferred but not mandatory.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of power tools and small machinery is a plus.
- Attitude: Strong commitment to teamwork, safety, and community service.
