Key Responsibilities
As a Parks and Recreation Worker, you will:
- Maintain parks, athletic fields, playgrounds, and green spaces through mowing, trimming, and general landscaping.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on recreational facilities, restrooms, and equipment.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of community events, festivals, and sports leagues.
- Monitor park safety, report hazards, and enforce park rules and regulations.
- Operate power tools and machinery, including mowers, trimmers, and tractors, following all safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service to park visitors and program participants.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Hold a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Have a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Be able to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting 50+ lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Demonstrate a commitment to public service and community engagement.
- Pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
