Responsibilities
- Maintain park grounds, athletic fields, and recreational facilities ensuring safety and cleanliness
- Organize and lead recreational programs, sports leagues, and community events
- Operate and inspect playground equipment, park benches, and irrigation systems
- Assist in seasonal park beautification projects including landscaping and trail maintenance
- Interact with park visitors providing information and resolving facility inquiries
- Collaborate with team members to implement departmental safety protocols
- Support special events setup, execution, and breakdown as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 6+ months experience in grounds maintenance, facility operations, or recreation services
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage diverse community members
- Basic knowledge of turf management and irrigation systems preferred
- Spanish bilingual skills highly desirable
