Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain park facilities including playgrounds, athletic courts, and walking paths
- Lead recreational programs for children, seniors, and community groups
- Conduct daily safety inspections and report maintenance needs
- Provide exceptional customer service to park visitors and event organizers
- Assist with special events, festivals, and seasonal park activations
- Collaborate with maintenance crews on landscape and infrastructure projects
- Enforce park rules and regulations while promoting positive visitor experiences
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid New York State Driver's License (Class D or higher)
- 1+ years experience in park maintenance, recreation, or customer service
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate maintenance equipment
- NYC Parks Department certification preferred
