Responsibilities
- Maintain park grounds including turf, trails, and athletic facilities using provided equipment
- Operate city-provided machinery (mowers, trimmers, irrigation systems) safely and efficiently
- Construct and repair park amenities (benches, fences, playgrounds) with supplied tools and materials
- Monitor park conditions and report maintenance needs to supervisors
- Assist in event setup and breakdown using provided event equipment
- Ensure all equipment is properly stored, maintained, and operated according to safety protocols
- Collaborate with team members on seasonal park improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in grounds maintenance preferred
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate provided mechanical equipment (mowers, blowers, etc.)
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of horticulture and landscape maintenance principles
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Commitment to safety protocols and equipment handling procedures
- Prior parks or groundskeeping experience a plus
