Responsibilities
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, and landscaping to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Landscaping: Assist with mowing, weeding, planting, and trimming vegetation to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the city.
- Facility Upkeep: Clean and repair park buildings, restrooms, and equipment; perform minor repairs on park structures and amenities.
- Sanitation: Empty trash and recycling receptacles, and assist with litter control to maintain a litter-free environment.
- Event Support: Set up and dismantle equipment for community events, sports games, and festivals as needed.
- Tool Operation: Safely operate power tools, mowers, trimmers, and other landscaping machinery.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or a related field is preferred.
- Physical Demands: Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions (heat, rain).
- License: Valid California driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of gardening tools and landscaping techniques.
- Communication: Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and the public.
