The State of Michigan is currently hiring for a Part-Time Administrative Assistant position within the Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT). We are looking for organized, detail-oriented individuals who want to make a tangible impact on the infrastructure and daily lives of Detroit residents.
As a part of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our operations run smoothly, supporting our mission to provide safe and efficient transportation services.
Responsibilities
- Manage and route incoming correspondence, including emails, phone calls, and mail.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records in our state database systems.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, arranging travel, and preparing meeting materials.
- Provide exceptional customer service to staff, visitors, and the public.
- Prepare and format documents, reports, and presentations using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Assist with general office duties such as filing, photocopying, and inventory management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous administrative experience in a government or public sector setting is preferred but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to state regulations.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, typically 20-25 hours per week.
