Responsibilities
- Greet and Assist Customers: Welcome visitors and provide courteous, efficient service at the service counter or via phone/email inquiries regarding DMV services.
- Process Transactions: Accurately process license renewals, vehicle registrations, title transfers, and other required documentation.
- Answer Inquiries: Resolve complex customer questions regarding fees, requirements, wait times, and available services.
- Verify Documentation: Review application forms and supporting documents for completeness and compliance with state regulations.
- Operate Computer Systems: Utilize PennDOT’s internal databases and point-of-sale systems to update customer records and issue receipts.
- Maintain Office Environment: Keep the customer service area organized, clean, and welcoming for all visitors.
- Handle Cash and Payments: Process payments accurately and manage cash drawers in accordance with security protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in customer service, reception, or administrative support preferred.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn proprietary government software quickly.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy when processing sensitive data and financial transactions.
