Responsibilities
- Process and verify federal employee benefit applications, retirement claims, and leave requests with high accuracy.
- Provide exceptional customer service and guidance to federal employees regarding benefits inquiries via phone and email.
- Maintain and update confidential personnel records and benefit databases in accordance with federal standards.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and summaries regarding benefit utilization and staffing metrics.
- Collaborate with the HR team to resolve complex payroll and benefits discrepancies.
- Ensure strict adherence to privacy laws (e.g., FERPA, Privacy Act) and agency security protocols.
Qualifications
- United States Citizenship is required for this position.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative support, customer service, or benefits administration.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn internal database systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
