Responsibilities
- Review and process veterans' disability compensation claims with 95% accuracy
- Coordinate with medical professionals to gather supporting documentation
- Provide clear case status updates to veterans via phone and secure messaging
- Maintain strict compliance with federal regulations and privacy laws (HIPAA, FERPA)
- Generate monthly performance reports for regional leadership review
- Train part-time colleagues on claims processing protocols
- Participate in quarterly quality assurance audits
Qualifications
- Associate degree in healthcare administration, paralegal studies, or related field
- Minimum 2 years' experience in claims processing or healthcare administration
- Proficiency with VA systems (VBMS, VBA) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal background clearance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Certified Veterans Service Officer (CVSO) preferred
- Strong attention to detail with proven accuracy in document review
- Ability to work 20-25 hours per week with flexible scheduling
