Responsibilities
- Review and validate veteran benefit applications against federal regulations (38 CFR)
- Conduct compliance audits for healthcare documentation and eligibility records
- Prepare detailed compliance reports for departmental leadership review
- Coordinate with state and local agencies for benefit verification processes
- Maintain secure digital records in federal databases (VA-INSPIRE)
- Train staff on updated federal compliance protocols quarterly
- Respond to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests within 5 business days
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Public Administration or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years compliance/regulatory experience in government or healthcare
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and federal databases
- Valid U.S. driver's license and clean background check
- Knowledge of HIPAA, ADA, and veterans' service regulations
- Ability to pass federal background investigation (Tier 1)
- Strong written communication skills for policy documentation
- U.S. citizenship required
