Responsibilities
- Analyze federal service records and employment histories to determine accurate pension eligibility and benefit calculations.
- Provide personalized counseling to federal employees regarding retirement options, survivor benefits, and healthcare under the FEHB.
- Prepare and review pension estimates, annuity statements, and retirement applications for submission to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
- Assist in resolving complex discrepancies in service credit and retirement calculations.
- Update and maintain accurate client records in secure federal databases.
- Collaborate with the tax and legal teams to ensure compliance with federal regulations regarding pension distributions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Federal Benefits Administration, Retirement Planning, or Human Resources with a focus on pensions.
- Strong working knowledge of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), CSRS, and Thrift Savings Plans (TSP).
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail for data accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to federal security protocols.
