As a key member of our Finance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate benefit calculations and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end administration of state pension plans, including member records, contribution tracking, and benefit calculations.
- Ensure strict compliance with Tennessee State Government policies, ERISA regulations, and federal pension laws.
- Process and audit pension disbursements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for all retirees.
- Act as the primary liaison for retiree inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings, providing exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with the IT department to maintain and update pension software systems and databases.
- Prepare detailed reports for state auditors and senior management regarding pension fund performance and liabilities.
- Assist in the development of training materials for new pension plan members and administrators.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in employee benefits administration, pension management, or state government finance.
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) and state retirement laws.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel (pivot tables, vlookups) and database management software.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data processing.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
