Responsibilities
- Manage Member Inquiries: Provide exceptional customer service to government employees regarding pension contributions, vesting, and benefit calculations.
- Process Contributions: Accurately receive and process monthly pension contributions and payments.
- Data Entry & Maintenance: Maintain up-to-date records of member accounts and ensure all data is compliant with state regulations.
- Compliance Monitoring: Assist in auditing pension records to ensure adherence to federal and state pension laws.
- Reporting: Prepare routine reports for management regarding plan status and outstanding balances.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the full-time pension team to resolve complex member issues efficiently.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Public Administration preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a government office, financial institution, or pension administration is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and data management software.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to maintain accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex policies to non-technical audiences.
- Availability: Ability to work a part-time schedule (20-25 hours per week), including some flexibility for meetings.
