Responsibilities
- Record Management: Digitize, archive, and retrieve historical and current city documents in compliance with state regulations.
- Public Assistance: Respond to in-person and telephone inquiries regarding city services, permits, and ordinances.
- Data Entry: Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases using MS Excel and government-specific software.
- File Organization: Classify and label physical and digital files to ensure easy accessibility for staff and the public.
- Administrative Support: Prepare correspondence, memos, and reports for department heads.
- Compliance: Ensure all record-keeping practices adhere to the Massachusetts Public Records Law.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business Administration or Public Records Management is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in administrative support, data entry, or a government office setting.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and knowledge of basic filing systems.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to manage large volumes of data with high accuracy.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with diverse Boston residents.
