Job Summary:
As our Grant Writer, you will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, researching grant requirements, and crafting high-quality proposals that align with our strategic goals. Your work will directly support the sustainability of our vital programs.
Responsibilities
- Research & Identification: Conduct comprehensive research to identify relevant public and private grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and goals.
- Proposal Writing: Draft, edit, and submit persuasive grant proposals, narrative sections, and budget narratives on tight deadlines.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with program directors and finance teams to gather necessary data, outcomes, and budget requirements.
- Donor Communication: Maintain relationships with current and prospective funders, ensuring timely reports and correspondence.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit required progress reports and final evaluation reports to grantors.
- Database Management: Maintain an up-to-date database of grant opportunities, active applications, and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or non-profit development (minimum 2 years).
- Writing Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a demonstrated ability to write for diverse audiences.
- Research Skills: Strong research abilities to locate specific funding sources and analyze complex RFPs (Request for Proposals).
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software (e.g., ZoomGrants, Fluxx).
