Responsibilities
- Research & Strategy: Conduct comprehensive research to identify and qualify federal, state, and private foundation funding opportunities aligned with our organizational goals.
- Proposal Development: Draft compelling, persuasive grant narratives, budgets, and supporting documents that clearly articulate our impact and value proposition.
- Project Management: Manage the entire grant lifecycle from initial inquiry to final submission, ensuring all deadlines are met with precision.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with program officers and funding agencies to understand their priorities and increase our chances of success.
- Reporting: Track awarded grants and prepare timely, accurate reports to ensure compliance and maintain good standing with funders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with program staff and executive leadership to ensure grant deliverables align with organizational strategy.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of successful experience writing and securing grants for non-profit organizations or the public sector.
- Portfolio: A portfolio of successful grant applications and awards is required.
- Writing Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a focus on clarity, tone, and persuasiveness.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Grant Management Software (e.g., Blackbaud, Fluxx, or similar).
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet tight deadlines.
